The Great Indian Kitchen

Cast: Nimisha Sajayan, Suraj Venjaramoodu

Release date: 15 January 2021

Directed by: Jeo Baby

INTRODUCTION:

The great Indian Kitchen, is the face of many women in the society. It shows the rituals, tradition, customs of our nation. The story evolves, how a newly married bride is going to fit in the groom's family.

STORY PLOT:

A young girl who aims to be a dancer will be married to a prestigious, religious family man. The family consists of a son, daughter, mother, father. Beginning of the marriage days, the girl's mother-in-law will take care of everything. But, her daughter delivery date is coming near, she accompanies her daughter.

In this process, the whole burden of family will be transferred to new bride. She is not a modern lady, that doesn't mean she is a lady, who know all the household works. She can manage. But, when this process continues day by day, she gets irritated and frustrated. No one will understand her pain, not even her mother.

The frustration goes to higher level, when she is in her menstruation period. The family doesn't give her any importance, nor her husband.

What is her final talk in this plot, is the story.

CONCLUSION:

All the actors have given their best performance. A very good story telling by the Captain of Ship. We all just sit on table and food comes to our plate. But, no one knows, how that happens. The backstory of a meal is shown in a well-structured manner.

The other interesting plot is, when menstruation cycle comes, instead of women supporting women, we get lot of humiliations by a woman itself. Though, the duration is small, the story line is powerful.
